Army Day

Army Day- The day dedicated to Indian army
The word “army day” indicates that it is a day to pay tribute to the Indian Army. We all are aware of the role our nation’s army plays in our life. It is because of them that we feel safe and protected in our houses. The jawans stay away from their loved and dear ones so that we can stay with our loved ones. This speechless sacrifice and the valiant sacrifices of the lives of our soldiers are showed due respect on this day.
Date and origination of this special day for army people
Every year this day is observed on the 15th of January. In 2013, like every year, Tuesday, the 15th of January will be observed as the 65th Army Day. This day recognizes the event when the Lt. General K.M Cariappa became the first Commander-in- Chief of the armed force taking the charges of our soldier from the last Commander of the British, Sir Francis Butcher. From that day onwards it was decided that this very day, 15th January will be celebrated as Army Day nationwide.
