Ayudha Mela and Puja is a local festival of Uttar Pradesh, celebrated in the month of October. People worship Lord Ram on this special occasion as the place is considered to be the birthplace of Lord Rama. Ayudha Puja is mainly dedicated to the worship of instruments which are used as the source of money. Different areas in the state follow different traditions to celebrate this Ayudha Mela and festival, but the festival is celebrated across the state of UP.

People clean and decorate their Instruments on this special event. It is not compulsory to worship only Instruments, books are also worshipped as the instruments of knowledge. Some communities also mark the festival by visiting Ram and Sita temples and paying offerings to the Deities, the Ayudha puja shows the celebration of victory of good over evil. The festival is celebrated with enthusiasm, fun and happiness all across the state of Uttar Pradesh.
The significance of Ayudha Mela festival is to show gratitude to the Deities for showering the worshipper with duties and responsibilities. The principal goddesses worshiped during this festival are Maa Saraswati (the Goddess of wisdom and art), Maa Lakshmi (the goddess of wealth) and Maa Parvathi (the divine mother), apart from equipment’s. It is also an integral part of the Dussehra celebrations.
