Kalpathi Ratholsavam, also known as Kalpathi Chariot Festival is an annual Hindu Festival, which is celebrated mainly in the Kalpathi village in Kerala. Kalpathi (Kalpathy) Ratholsavam (Kalpathi Chariot Festival) is an important festival in the Kalpathi village (Palakkad district) in Kerala, India. The festival is celebrated at the Sri Visalakshi Sametha Sri Viswanatha Swamy temple where the deities worshipped are Lord Shankar (Lord Viswanatha) and his consort Visalakshi, another name for Maa Parvati. Kalpathi Ratholsavam is a 10 day festival being celebrated annually in the month of November.

Legend says that a Brahmin widow named Lakshmiammal went to Varanasi (Kashi) and brought Lingam and installed in the present site on the southern bank of the Neela Bhagirathi River. This temple is popularly also called "Kasiyil Pakuthi Kalpathy" (Half Banaras). Vedic recitals and cultural programs are held in the temple during the first 4 days of the festival. This is believed to be over 700 year old temple of Lord Shiva.

On the last three days, 1000 of devotees gather together and draws decorated temple chariots through the streets. This auspicious event is a must watch sight, and even weather wise the place during the time of the Festival is truly favorable. The celebration of 10-day chariot festival conducted here during November month is the most amazing festival of Kerala. The Chariot Festival during the celebration is conducted based on Vedic Tamil Brahmin Beliefs and Culture.
