Kamala Mahavidya Jayanti is a day devoted to Goddess Kamala (Hindu Goddess of wealth and prosperity). She is believed to be one of the 10 Mahavidyas (the wisdom of Goddesses), incarnated on earth. The form of Goddess Kamala is similar to Goddess Lakshmi (Hindu Goddess of Wealth). She is also known as the Hindu Goddess of consciousness and creation.

Significance
This day is mainly observed to seek the blessings of Goddess Kamala to attain wealth and prosperity. People who desire to have material wealth observe this day with a lot of enthusiasm and perform rituals to please the Goddess. Goddess Kamala is believed to be incarnated on this very day.

When
Kamala Jayanti is celebrated on the day of Diwali (festival of lights) as Kamala Mahavidya Jayanti. 

Legends and Beliefs
Goddess Kamala is symbolized as an attractive woman with golden skin and is shown to be seated or standing on a Lotus flower. She also holds two more lotuses that signify the form of richness and purity. Goddess Kamala represents inner realization and the richness of creation. The Goddess is known and worshipped for her power to eradicate paucity, both material and spiritual.  Kamala name came from the Lotus on which she is believed to be seated. Goddess Kamala is believed to be the companion of Lord Vishnu.

Rituals and Celebrations
The Kamala Puja is done along with the Lakshmi puja on Diwali. All the rituals are also performed along with the Lakshmi Puja itself. It is believed that she is appeased for wealth and riches in Tantrik worship.
