Rama Ekadashi Vrat Katha Festival

Rama Ekadashi is an important Hindu Festival. Rama Ekadashi is also called Rambha Ekadashi or ‘Kartik Krishna Ekadashi’. This Ekadashi is the most important Ekadashi fasts that are observed in the Hinduism. It falls on the Krishna Paksha (the dark fortnight of the moon) during the Hindu ‘Kartik’ month of the Hindu Lunar Calendar.

By observing this Vrat (fast), all sins of an individual are removed. On this day, Lord Vishnu is worshiped and reading Bhagwad Gita is considered to be auspicious. The importance of Rama Ekadashi was narrated by Lord Krishna and is recorded in the Hindu Religious Scripture like Brahma Vaivarta Purana

Significance of Rama Ekadashi:

According to ‘Brahma-Vaivarta Purana’, it is believed that people who observe this sacred fast will be freed from all his/her sins. One can even get rid of sin like Brahmahatya (murder of Brahmins). One who hears the glories of this Ekadashi will attain salvation. By worshipping Lord Vishnu with devotion on this day, the person will overcome all the problems in his/her life and achieve success.

It is also believed that the benefits of observing this Ekadashi Vrat are even more fruitful than performing 1000 Ashvamedha Yagyas or 100 Rajasuya Yagyas. Devotees who are observing fast should avoid consuming food items made from grains. On this day devotees take a holy bath and offer fruits, flowers, incense sticks, sweets and Dhoop to Lord Vishnu.
