![]() Lava And Lolegaon – The Perfect Place For Holidaying With Family Places Of Tourist Interest In The Region Lava Monastery: Also famous by the name of Ratnarishi Bihar Buddhist Gompa, this monastery was set up by Karma Lodro Chokyi Senge, who was the third Kongtrul Rinpoche. The monastery, located near the Neora Reservoir Lake, is currently operated by the fourth Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche, who also provides training to young disciples. Jelep La Pass: This is one of the highest mountain passes between India and Tibet and is located in the district of East Sikkim. The famous Menmecho Lake is located just below the Jelep La pass, which lies on the main passageway between Lhasa and Sikkim. Jelep La means “The Lovely Level Pass”, which is exactly what the visitors experience while crossing this 46 m link between India and Tibet. Nature Interpretation Centre: This center is located at the entrance of the Neora Valley National Park and is a great place to understand the environment of the Park. The Centre has various models and photographs depicting the Parks environment. In addition, visitors can also get to see a wide variety of stuffed birds and animals as well as a great display of different kinds of plants and flows, including the orchids, which can be found in great abundance in the region. Canopy Walk: Located at a distance of nearly 1 km from the Lolegaon Bus stand, the Canopy walk is a series of inter-connected foot bridges, situated amidst the forest thick with fir, oak, birch and cypress trees. Having a total length of 180 m. these bridges hanging between trees enable visitors to enjoy the beauty of the forest lying underneath them. Since the bridges are placed high up in trees, they tend to sway constantly and hence should be avoided by people who feel dizzy at heights. Jahndidara View Point: The Jahndidara View point is located on the top of the Lolegaon hill, at a distance of 4 kms from the bus stand. Visitors can reach the view point by taking an uphill walk that bypasses the Canopy walk. The view point provides enchanting view of the rising sun on the Kanchenjunga mountain range. In addition, visitors can enjoy a breathtaking view of the places like Pandim, Talung, Kabru, Narsing, Jopuno and Pakichu etc.
