In order to reach New Tehri via air one has to reach Dehradun since it is the closest location to the city. However the closest rail head lies at Rishikesh which is one important pilgrimage for the Hindus. One can also avail bus services from Rishikesh to reach the city of New Tehri.
The location of Tehri with its religious importance and scenic beauty has been attracting tourist every year. There are good numbers of availability of accommodation. However it is better to book hotels beforehand if the planning is to visit in the summer season.
Though the location is still not crowded like the other places in Garhwal district, it is still a calm location offering gorgeous view of the lake and green hills to spend some quiet time with your friends or family. Additionally it can also be a good location for honeymooners because of the beauty and calmness.
