Major Places Of Tourist Interest In SinghikAs mentioned earlier, Singhik is a small village nested in the Himalayan ranges. So while the place has much to offer in terms of natural beauty and attractions, there are no luxurious boarding accommodations to be expected. However, for most visitors, a few days of old-world life is surely going to make their Singhik trip even more memorable. Given below are the details of the most famous tourist destinations in and around Singhik.  

Singhik View Point:  Located on the wayside of Singhik, the Singhik View Point is known for offering a panoramic view of the high mountains, including Mount Kanchenjunga, and other neighboring places.  The point where the Rivers Teesta and Kanaka meet is located just below this vantage point.  In addition the place also offers a beautiful view of the several mountain streams, hills covered with forests and numerous trekking trails that surround the beautiful village of Singhik.

Labrang Monastery: The word Labrang translates to 'the lamas dwelling'. This ancient monastery, which abides by the guidelines of Nyingmapa School of Tibetan Buddhism, was built in 1814, to pay tribute to Latsun Chembo of Kongpu in Tibet. Latsun Chembo of Kongpu was well-known for setting up a Buddhist school in Sikkim. There is another monastery known as the Phadong Monastry, which attracts tourists in large numbers. Located in the vicinity of the Labrang Monastery, the Phadong Monastery was built by Chogyal Gyurmed Namgyal in the 18th century.

Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary: Spread over an area of nearly 43 sq. Km., the Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary is located in the northern region of Lachung Valley. The sanctuary, which is nested in between snow capped mountains, is known to house more than 40 diverse types of rhododendron shrubs. In addition, trees such as primulas, poppies, gentians, potentillas, saxifrages and aconites, can also be found here. The sanctuary is also home to a few rare species of animals which include the spotted lingsang also known as the tiger-civet.  The main source of water within the sanctuary is River Yumthang, which flows through it. The best time to visit this sanctuary is from November to mid-June.

Rong Lungten Lee:  This replica of a traditional Lepcha house is located at Namprikdang, which is just a short distant away from the town of Mangan. The house consists of three rooms and an attic which is known as a “phahong” and is used by the Lepchas to store valuable items.  The house also displays several artifacts which are unique to the Lepcha community.

Sirijonga Yuma Mangheem:  This structure shares its design with another structure of the same name located in the town of Martam, in western Sikkim. This structure at Singhik is more recent, as it was constructed only in 1983 and is frequented by tourists during the month of January, when the holy festival of Maghey Sankranti is celebrated here with great fervor.
